Christy is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She has a Certificate in Worship Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and leads worship for retreats, conferences, church services/events, revivals and more. Christy and her husband, James attend Black Oak Community Church south of Lincoln, MO. They have served together in prison ministry since 2015 and have shared the Gospel with 1,000s of men and women. Christy started writing music in 2016 and began leading these songs in prisons and at other venues and was overwhelmed at the impact they were making in the lives of offenders and others. She has donated a copy of her album “Sing for the King” and single “Freedom” to every institution in Missouri to encourage offenders and point them to Jesus and the Bible. Christy and James have been married since June 1993 and have two grown sons, Cameron (wife, Danii) and Christian (wife, Sydney) and granddaughter Faye. These days you can find Christy leading worship on most Saturday nights with the Cross Connect Band at Olive Branch Baptist Church, first Thursday nights at The Church of Living Water Celebrate Recovery, and at various other events and services.
“God has called me to use my gift of music to lead worship in prisons, churches and more and I am grateful for every occasion to lead people in the worship and praise of my Savior, Jesus Christ, for He alone is worthy.” – Christy Hoagland
